Horse Racing Night

The IPVS |ESPHM is delighted to announce the Horse Racing Night which will take place on Thursday, June 9th, 2016 at Leopardstown Racecourse.

The Horse Racing Night will be a combination of great food, great music, thrilling and fast-paced horse races and a fantastic line up for the open air concert series encompassing all things Irish – all of which will make for a night you are sure to remember!


Tickets for this event are now sold out. We will be operating a waiting list for this event which will be done on a first come, first served basis. Please email the congress secretariat at with your interest in the event. Time and date of request will be noted, and tickets for the event will be allocated according to those who requested their tickets first.

Package (1) – Horse Racing Night

Price – €80 per person, SOLD OUT

** For MSD AH Symposium Attendees, buses will be available at the end of the seminar to accommodate you. The MSD Symposium will take place at RDS in Hall 7 from 17:00 – 18:00 on Thursday 9th June.

The seven-race card will commence at 18:00 with 30-minute intervals, followed by the open air concert at approximately 21:15 until 22:15. (Timings are subject to change).

Coaches will depart at scheduled times from RDS to Leopardstown (after the congress and after the MSD Symposium) and based on your chosen time for the Horse Racing Night you will need to be present on time to depart the RDS. Staff will guide you to the location of departure.

Package (2) – Horse Racing Night (Summer Bundle)

The Leopardstown Horse Racing Summer Bundle is a public event where guests enjoy public admission to Leopardstown racecourse where they will enjoy a great night of horse racing, a flutter on the horses, tempting street vendor style food, a cold bottle of Bulmer’s Irish Cider and musical entertainment.

Taking the Luas

Luas light rail offers a regular service on the Green Line from St Stephens Green in Dublin city centre to the Sandyford / Brewery Road stop. This trip takes 22 minutes. The racecourse is only a short walk from the Sandyford stop, however on race days we offer a complimentary shuttle bus service between the stop and the racecourse. 

Driving via the M50-southbound

Take exit 14 off the M50 travel straight through the first roundabout at top of ramp. Continue straight down through traffic lights. At the next roundabout take the third exit onto Leopardstown Road and take the first right to enter the racecourse.

Driving via the M50-northbound
Take exit 15 off the M50 and cross the flyover, following the signs for Leopardstown Racecourse.

From Dublin city centre
Take the N11 (Stillorgan dual carriageway) heading towards the southeast, past Stillorgan. Turn right at traffic lights onto Leopardstown Road R113 sign posted Leopardstown. Continue straight and Leopardstown’s entrance is on the left just before the traffic lights in front of the roundabout.

Car Parking

There are two entrances for cars to Leopardstown Racecourse you can use on race days. Car parking is free, but we do advise racegoers to allow ample time for the journey on race days.

  1. The first is on Leopardstown Road, near the roundabout linking Leopardstown Park Hospital, Leopardstown Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate and Brewery Road.
  2. The second entrance is off the M50 at junction 15 (Carrickmines).
